Book Checkout Policies
All Hamilton students have access to check out library books weekly when they come to Media. The Library Media Center is also open daily from 11:00-11:30 for Open Library in case students miss their Media day or need to check out a book on a day that is not Media day.
Kindergarten students check out 1 book per visit September - January; 1-2 books per visit January - May
1st graders and 2nd graders are encouraged to check out 1-3 books per visit.
3rd, 4th and 5th graders are encouraged to check out 1-5 books per visit.
All books are due back 1 week (7 days) from the date of checkout. Students can renew their books in Destiny or with Mrs. Henderson, if they need more time with their books. In the situation where there is no school on the due date (such as during school breaks) the due date will be extended. There is no charge or fine for late books. If your student has overdue books please return them as soon as possible.
Students can also hold up to 2 books at a time, so if the book they want is not currently available, they will be in line for when it is returned.
Money for lost books will be collected in June through SchoolPay (via PowerSchool).
